Welcome to the Chaffinch Trust

Ben Goss, The Founder

The Chaffinch Trust has been established to develop initiatives and projects that support and encourage the disadvantaged to meet the challenges they face because of poverty and lack of opportunity.

The official launch of our charity, with almost five years to show what can be achieved through co-ordination, collaboration, co-operation and communication was held at Buckingham Palace on Thursday 10 November.

We are honoured to have the Patronage of Her Royal Highness,The Princess Royal, guarding the vision; encouraging collaboration and cooperation between those who serve those living in the poorest areas of Britain and overseas.

The Trust brings organisations together to address the issues of specific projects. It builds on the energy and commitment of those in existing organisations to create even more local, national and international partnerships in order to encourage greater opportunity.

I have taken the lessons learnt from my involvement with the charity Give Them a Sporting Chance (GTaSC) which I founded in 1990. The remarkable benefits of people working together have enabled people with disabilities and carers to have the opportunity of turning their sporting and recreational dreams into reality whilst raising funds for a charity other than GTaSC.

The idea of encouraging organisations to work even more in harmony to tackle the needs of those who live in disadvantaged areas provides a fresh approach in the midst of increasing poverty in Britain and elsewhere.
